    Guess What!!??

My dad surprised me with a Red-Tailed Boa this morning! Only a couple days after I bought a Ball Python. Wish I would have waited now I have two snakes to care for.

Def. Not. Haha. The Red is close to three feet the Ball is just a little baby boy. They will be kept away from each other. The red is a beaut.

Ummm, yeah....and bigger...and bigger....and bigger!!! I have a red-tail coming as soon as the night time lows get into the 30's around here. I have a tub for her and also have a 2x3x12 reptile cage for her to grow into and also have plans for a 6x2x2 cage to be built in a year!! Oh, I can't wait to see him!!

    6x2x2? Dang dude, thats huge.

Most Boas average 5-8 feet long. With the occasional 9-10 footer to keep everyone guessing. 90% of Boas will comfortably live in a 4x2x18" as adults for life.

I mean, if you want to keep your Boa in something that large, thats your prerogative, but its not needed.

Good luck with your new Boa. They are tons of fun. Be sure and read up on them and do some studying. They are worlds apart from your Ball Python.

Yeah, I have read Vinny's book and also another one. Also, since she's a female, I think a 6 foot tank is called for given that they are active and curious and utilize both floor space and air space. I do not believe that keeping a 7-8 foot long snake in a 4 foot enclosure is a good thing; the least I would go is 5 feet.....so I will hedge my bet on her adult size and give her a 6 footer!
