    tun heating problems?

ok I have a problem heating my tub. I originally was using a 30 gallon aquarium but read here that it would be better to use a tub for my snake(dont have snake yet).

so I have started over using a 32qt tub with a 11x6 Under tank heater and care fresh substrate. I have the uth on a dimmer and the hot side temps are fine but the cool side is basically at room temp 70-72? I cant believe one side of the tub can be in the 90's but just 6 inches over is room temp? what should I do? I really don't want to have to get another heat pad, another dimmer etc because I don't want wires everywhere.lol. I also don't want to heat the whole room for one snake. any suggestions would be great. thanks.

Hmmm.... you're probably going to need one for each side, if that's all 1 will do.

    Re: tun heating problems?

Same thing happened here when I put my BP in a tub for the winter. I had to add a second UTH on a second thermostat for the 'cool' side, AND day and night lamps to keep the ambient up! IMHO tubs are a lot more trouble than tanks or display cages... though I will admit they DO hold the humidity better.

thanks for the thoughts. I think I am going to try out a 15 qt tub and see how that works.
