Humidifier Recommendation
Hey Gang...Now that my collection has grown it is no longer practical to spray each and every tub several times a day. I also live in Indiana where it is very cold and very dry...so I am thinking about buying a room humidifier for the snake room.
Thoughts or recommendations? Specific brand recommendations?
I looked at Sears and Wally World and they have some around $100 (not sure if these are good or bad - overkill or not big enough (room is about 120 square feet)
Thanks for your help.

Re: Humidifier Recommendation
Based on what I know about square footage, your room is roughly 13 x 9.
My room is slightly larger and I use this:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=5131254
It does the trick, keeping my room around 55% as the space heater sucks out all the moisture. The bad part is I have to fill it every day, but I wanted something small and less expensive. I've only had it for about a month so we'll see how long it lasts.

Thanks for the info...did you go with the cool mist vs. a heated humidifer for any particular reason? (not really sure the benefits or drawbacks to either type)

I went with cool mist b/c they're easier to clean. It is slighlty nosy b/c of the fan, but not annoying.

Re: Humidifier Recommendation
I bought a Honeywell Cool mist humidifier and one thing I noticed is that the amount of water didn't last as long as it said it should have on the box. They said 20 hours of run time but I'd say I got half of that use before I had to fill the tank again. Just something to keep in mind when you go shopping for one...

Re: Humidifier Recommendation
This is what I use:

I love it and have had no problems with it!

Re: Humidifier Recommendation
Buy a big one that you can bring the water to. It sucks having to take the small ones to the bath tub every 12 hours for filling. Go with Charlie's suggestion.

Not knowing how big a unit I needed I went with a Holmes (with digital humidity readout/control)...if this doesn't work then I will definately bump to to a big one like this one. Can someone tell me how well it monitors and regulates the humidity (ie. are you constantly having to adjust its output)

After the initial adjustments I haven't had to touch it at all, just refill it every few days...It gives me a consistent humidity on the accurite.
