Re: condensation in egg box help
If I understand correctly... it's caused bye a difference of temps between locations??? What type of inc are you using?
Grey Scale is a good thing...

Re: condensation in egg box help
im using a styrofoam box and heating it with a water heater in a tub of water underneath the egg box. the room temp is 75 degrees. could that be the reason why im getting condensation?

Prolly... I'm really not sure, I just remember something in VPI's book about condensation... have you searched here for home made incs?

Re: condensation in egg box help
ya i have and most of them are heated by heat tape which seems like a good idea but i dont know if i have enough time to actually change my setup. i may try to dry out the vermiculite a little and put my incubators in my reptile room so the temperature difference isnt so dramatic.
any other ideas??

Re: condensation in egg box help
Condinsation is good, But not on the lid.. If water can drip on the eggs they will not make it. Or they will come out deformed.

Redue your mixture, Take out your medium and put in a new batch only dryer, See how that works..

Re: condensation in egg box help
i have a hygrometer in the egg box and it says 95% humidity. thats the right range but maybe the vermiculite is too damp because im planning on incubating using the substrateless method and i think i might have over saturated the vermiculite.
ill try remixing it tomorrow and see how it works out.
thanks.
