I just adopted a red tail from a guy here in Atlanta (and of course its quarantined in a separate room from the others). He's about 5 years old has a lot of scars from rodents but they're all healed just lots of bad scars. He says he hasn't been feeding him often and he had him in a mesh cage in a closet with no heating lamp. He's actually really docile and seems to be fine his, overall health seems to be ok and he at like champ (f/t now) except he's not even 4' long i just thought this was really weird. I thought he looked about 2 years old when i asked the guy and he said he had him over 4 years i was surprised. Is this normal or would you think that maybe because of his conditions or being underfed or the wounds he had has this kept him from growing? I thought most boas were bigger by this age maybe I'm wrong. Just wondering what you guys thought about it cause i have no idea I'm just gonna feed him regularly and now that he's in a proper enclosure I hope he'll grow some more.
