burning holes in tubs for rats?

Can I burn holes for my rats in there tub for ventilation? I want them out of the aquariums, and can't get hardware cloth yet..

I would not recommend it especially if it is on the side, this could be the starting point for them to chew their way out.

Just wait until you have the hardware cloth

I have 2 tubs that I use for quarentine an here is what I did if that help

Ok then! The ag barn has some leftover hardware cloth so ill just grab that!

Yeah, go with the hardware cloth. I don't think you can put enough holes in the tub to allow enough ventilation and not have them chew out.

Grab a bag of zipties too if you are attaching hardware cloth to tub cut-outs (either in the lid or on the sides). I never put a hole in my plastic tubs anymore other than to hold the water bottle. I used to and it does encourage chewing out.
