Tub size and setup questions

Hey I got mojo a 28 Quart tub to be his new home. I got it from wal mart and I am notcing compared to my 20 gallon glass tank it is very very shallow. I have a stick in the tank right now I got from store that I see Mojo on sometimes and I am worried he might miss his little airward adventures. What do you guys and gals think?

I feel that my snakes are perfectly fine in tubs...Others will agree, others will disagree.

I smell arguments.. they must be coming.

How big is the mojo? Hatchling? I picked up some 28qts from walmart for my 4 new hatchlings. I took them back the next day. After looking at them for a while.. they did seem pretty shallow. Like half a foot or something? I switched to 40qts and they've been doing great. 40 will be too small (TO ME) for my BPs when they hit around 500g. At that time I plan to move them to a display w/ the dimensions 48Lx24Wx12H.

This is what I do/will do.

A lot of people go 12qt for hatchling & 40qt for an adult ..?

We have adult females in 28 qt blanket boxes. Ball pythons seem to do much better in smaller, dark spaces. Sure they will climb (and fall a lot) if given the opportunity, but most people who keep a lot of them will tell you that smaller and dark are better. You will find there are some that will eat no matter what they live in. But several seem to stress out if given too much space. *shrug* Just what I've experienced.

I know your looking for advice but really... If humidity/temps are being met ... you can choose whichever size you would like... I have a 500g 07 female clown in a 96qt tub... Youll find once you add 2 hides, a water bowl, and something to climb on (which you offer) theres really not much room to move around... In the end choose which ever size you would like but just make sure temps/humid are right on and youll be fine...

People who keep a lot go with smaller to save on space for their own benefit... The "darkness" can be provided with 2 small snug hides in each tub...My 10 snakes are doing just as good as anyone elses who keep em in smaller tubs so to say they "do better" is just an opinion... Theres no studies supporting that they benefit more from smaller enclousers than larger or vice versa... IMO they do "better" in larger enclosures... Again I have no scientific proof but common sense will tell you that the more exercise any animal gets... the better.
