    VICTORY! Muahahaha!

My last remaining hold-out non-eater granite female, who hatched on August 15th, FINALLY ATE BY HERSELF!

I brought some smaller adult mice home to feed the babies, like I do every Thursday, and left them in the room for about an hour. Got everyone fed without losing any fingers I had left the granite alone for 2 weeks, as I was told to do, and decided to drop a large crawler/almost hopper into her tub last night. I actually forgot about her, and at about 11pm or so, I went and checked on everyone.

Low and behold, the freaking mouse was GONE and she was sitting on her hide looking all proud. I had to dismantle the tub just to make sure I wasn't dreaming or hallucinating.

THANK GOODNESS! And thank you to everyone who has offered assistance. This little girl is going to make it She's still about 55-60g but a robust little thing with an attitude. Her sisters are almost 200g, so she has some catching up to do! I'll get a picture of her tomorrow after she's done digesting.

Awesome! It always feels so good when the last hold-out eats... seems like there's one in every clutch.

    Congrats

    Re: VICTORY! Muahahaha!

Josh, I hatched her myself. I didn't buy her somewhere and just wasn't having luck with her. She didn't have that instinctual know-how to make her realize that mice are food and you eat them. One of her sisters was the same way, but didn't take as long to learn. All 35+ of my snakes eat whenever offered(unless it's Amani and someone said her butt looked fat or something, so she's on a 2-week schedule now).

She was from a small female I rescued(my granite), that was unknowingly gravid. The whole clutch was small(5 eggs that were TINY) and each baby weighed about 45-50g. They took forever to shed too.

Awesome! That must be the greatest feeling. I went into feeding my hatchlings with trepidation, and a few held out for a little while. It is great when they are all eating!
