hatchling rack sizes and prices

How much does 15 racks. Could i buy these at a place like staples (the plastic shelves which are made for holding pens, supplies, etc.) i have seen things that seem like they could work. and what size should they be?

Check these out not a bad price. You would still have to buy a Helix or something to run the heat. Im not sure tubs look like they might be a little small but looks like a good rack.
Like it says on that site might be alittle much for a smaller breeder. Says something about that. Not sure if ill really need something like that yet but, Im thinking about getting one of them for next year.

I've looked into this a lot too, basically these racks are made from customized standard plastic shelving. A lot of them even look like they could be sold by the container store. I think a nice shelving unit (InterMetro solid shelves, container store), outfitted with heat tape, could accommodate rows of closed top tubs. The problem is that these shelves are really expensive anyway (130+, for only 3 shelves), and they are open sided and don't fit tubs tightly. The nice thing about custom built ones is that open tubs fit very tightly, are pre-wired, come with customer support, look much better and cost about as much as it would to build your own. Am I right? Is there a cheaper/better way to do a rack system? I know people build them out of wood etc, but I'm in an apartment and don't have the tools/time/skill to do a project like this. I've been dying to breed BP's, but I'm not sure I can afford the initial investment in the racks on top of the snakes, thermostats etc.

For hatchlings, I use the "shoebox" containers; they are an off-brand that I got at Dollar Tree. They worked great and are not too thick, which enabled me to melt airholes into them with the soldering gun, with ease. I would just get those and make a rack out of melamine, mdf material, or even wood; it would be cheaper and you'd get just the size you need.
