What are you using to measure temp on the warm side?

Assuming the temperatures are accurate, it is perfectly fine for your snake to prefer the cool side. As long as you provide an adequate temperature gradient and hides for your snake he will move around as needed.

In the morning when I check on my BP's they are both usually in the warm side. The rest of the day they are usually on the cool side. Its normal.

If your temps are optimal measured with a digital thermometer, and your BP has 2 identical hides than it is a preference, which is not unusual.

If the ambient air temp in your tank is 91 degrees than he might think its too warm. I try to keep my air temp around 85 degrees and my warm side in the low 90s. If he is an adult than they have been known to like the cool side during breeding season. Some of mine do at least.

    Re: just wondering......

My BP is always on the cool side (79-83 degrees). Although one time he spent a week on the warm side.

Just let him do his thang.
