I promised my husband on for christmas, the price and the lack of games turns me off but I haven't heard anything bad about it.
I want a 360 but I'm waiting until they work the bugs out a bit more on that, not to mention it really irks me that they refuse to completely disclose the other common problems that people are having (beyond the red ring of death).
I also want a Wii but that will wait. We currently have a PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast, PSP, GB Advanced... that's plenty for now.

Haven't been on either one much lately though. Too many other hobbies taking up time.

Waiting for the Orange Box to release on the PS3 and I think i'll be back into some gaming for awhile.

I'm saving up to buy myself a PS3, I can't wait! Some of the games that I plan on getting for it are, Folklore, Lair, Heavenly Sword, and Guitar Hero 3.

Really? We've had a 360 for almost a year and it's been rock solid...we both love playing games on it...for example, we rocked Gears of War on Insane mode!

PS3 has nothing I want to play...and certainly not for what it costs.

I don't like the graphics on the Wii....meh.

Xbox 360 is the best option imo. You get a 3 year warranty from date of purchase, which to my knownledge beats every other console.

Price is also huge. The Core pack for the 360 is only $300 right now and the last time I checked the price had dropped on the PS3 until they sell out of the crappy models, then the price goes right back up to $600-700. It is kind of a joke imo.

Not sure how PS3 prices their systems, but Microsoft loses about $100 on every system it sells. They do that to keep the price low. I'm not sure if PS3 does that or not. If they do, they will have some serious trouble competing in that market if they cannot become more efficient.

Also the games suck

Wii....I havn't been a nintendo fan since Nintendo 64. Gamecube was a joke and sunk the Nintendo ship for me.

Don't get me wrong, the 360 is a nice system, I kicked but at Gears of War on my brother in laws. However, the REASON for the three year warranty is because of the huge assortment of problems they'd been coming back with. I'm not calling it a defective system but there IS a problem with quite a number of them.
PS3 has some nice games, L.A.I.R, Folklore, Resistance Fall of Man (almost as fun as Gears) and they are adding to their library, when Resident Evil 5 comes out my husband won't be able to tear me away from it for about a week or so (I have to beat games two or three times before I'm satisfied....probably why I'm not a HUGE RPG fan like my sister).
As stated before though the price is not a good thing, my husband wants the $500 system.

Wii... the graphics look like you'd expect them to for a nintendo system. It's got a lot of potential that they haven't tapped yet, and gearing most games for the young crowd puts them out of a lot of gamers radar, but they are a fun system. I hate golf, and I played that with a friend of mine for hours, it was a blast, not to mention their price is the most affordable of the three next gens.

I missed something. Gamecube a joke? Resident Evil 4 for the gamecube rocked beyond amazing. You get thirty lashes with a wet noodle.

Yeah I have acutally had my system die on me, but it was promptly replaced. Im still happy needless to say. Xbox has some of the better shooter games(Halo, Gears of War, Orange Box), which is why I like it.

PS3 is much more of an RPG'ish type system. If you enjoy those types of games, you will love a PS3.

Wii is very kiddish as you said. Most of the games are geared toward younger audiences.

I havn't played Resident Evil in a long time. The second game was probably my favorite. Even the first game blew my mind. I think RE 4 came out toward the end of the life of the system didn't it? I honestly never played it. RE games scare the s*** out of me too often

All I have is NHL 08, which is a fun game.

A few friends picked up Conan which is new and has boobs (no not Conan, the women do) which seems to be everyones favorite part of the game.

Assasins Creed comes out on the 13th

Graphics don't make the system good or bad. PS1 had crap graphics and take FF7 for example? Horrid graphics, but still one of the best games of all time.
