Any free software for tracking?

I want to keep track of my rodent colonies, so I can pick out which of the babies to hold back as future breeders (from the best and most productive moms). Anyone know of any free tracking/database software that is simple and will work well for this? I don't want to put them into my Degei, that just seems like a lot of clutter.

I've looked all over the internet for a program to track our rat breeding results to help me optomize certains things like litter size, size of weanlings, etc. but never found a simple program. Everything is for fancy/show rodents and includes things I don't need.

We need to talk to Damon who did Degei for snakes and get him to do something simple for feeder/breeder rodent colonies!

Yes! I would love something like that, I too have found only programs for the fancy show rats.

If he made it as an add-on for Degei that would keep the rodent records seperate from the herps, that would be super-spiffy.

I recently downloaded Metzcal herp software. I heard it was complicated but decided to give it a shot anyway as i'm a pretty patient person when it comes to inputting data. Its working great for my snakes. It has a place for litters, cage cleaning, animal feedings and other stuff too.


Its completely free for the full download. Make sure to download the instruction manual just in case you need it (i did for a couple of things).

Long story short, it should suffice for keeping track of your rat colonies.
