    britney spears... such a shame

i've heard so much on tv about britney spears at the mva... so i wanted to check it out to see if it was as bad as i was hearing it was. oh man, it was soooo much worse. how could she go on stage and be this pathetic? how could anyone let her go out there, with greasy hair and... is she coming down from something?

i'm not a britney fan, but my kids have been at times so i've seen and heard quite a bit of her over the years... makes me sad to see a train wreck like this.

Man.. I kinda feel bad for her, but then again she put herself into the situation that she's in. Just by looking at her face you could tell that she really didn't want to be there, and did not put any effort into that performance at all.

It surprises any of us that yet another child star is going wrong?

She is a huge disappointment. She was rich and successful. Think of the thing you wan most in life but can't afford.. she could buy multiples of it. Pathetic that people do not grow to heir potential and remain successful.. what a waste!

Re: britney spears... such a shame

Some of them do Jen but it's often usually the other way with people that become so successful at a very young age. I'm no fan of hers but I often wonder when I look at these folks that were making some major cash as children, just how much childhood they really had. When you become your family's largest source of income, when how you look is that important, when you basically become a product more than a child/very young adult....how does that warp a personality? How does that affect a family dynamic? It's within our families that we learn social norms, expectations of behaviour and so forth. How does that get skewed when you bring home the pay check at age 11? Who tells you "no"? Some of these star parents make my skin crawl and I wonder just how well these kids are being raised in the limelight. It's no wonder so many of them end up a mess as adults.

Re: britney spears... such a shame

Just to add a little to what Jo said...

I'm NOT a beautiful young lady that made a fortune on the stage...but...

Two years ago, I was a successful Database Administrator making a decent salary. I developed migraines, went on disability, lost my job, my truck, and have nearly lost my house. I'm now a successful Dairy Manager in a local grocery store, earning about 1/4 of my previous salary. My migraines have subsided (just have occasional symptoms, but no full blown migraines in quite a while) but my cognitive abilities have been severely compromised. I can no longer concentrate at the level required for the type of work that I did before. So I know that I can't return to my good paying and rewarding career. I'm not saying that this is comparable to what happened to Britney, or any other child star... just throwing the possibility out there.

The best part is that it sounds like everyone is cheering their lungs out, but when the camera pans the audience, people are barely clapping! LMAO!

    Poor thing.

Her hair looks a mess because her hairdresser left before doing her hair. One report says she fired him, he says he quit...so...?
She tried to put her hair extensions in herself, and wasn't very successful.

The best thing to come out of this is Leave Britney Alone and all the various reply videos. Don't click, kiddies and worker bees, bad language! However, I'm now a Chris Crocker addict. I think I spent an hour watching his Youtubes last night.

Wow. Yet more proof that one cannot truly ever buy happiness. I would not be famous for all of the money in the world.
