Het Pied Marker Question?
Hello everyone! I am new around here and my roommate and I just acquired two female ball pythons. We were told they were captively hatched from an African clutch. After surfing around here and finding the thread where someone else was asking about the Het Pied marker I just had to turn ours over and have a look. One of them appears to have two sets of short lines, one set about midway up her belly and another near her tail, and her belly in between both sets of lines is completely clear. Being new to all of this, I may be just seeing things, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks in advance for telling me what you think!

Re: Het Pied Marker Question?
If you didn't buy the animal as a het Pied the chances of it being so are "Slim to None" the "markers" in my option are a poor way to judge hets and poss hets.
Prime example
Find the het pied one is a 100% het pied and one is no where near it
Option 1

Option 2

Re: Het Pied Marker Question?
since you're doing this to prove that not all hets have belly markes, and ones that do aren't necessarily hets...
The top is the het.

The top is the het.
Option 1: is not Het for any thing. Wonderful clear belly the black belly lines go from its chin to it vent.
Option 2: is a 100% het pied male produced by EbN and purchased from Daniel1983 here on the forum ;D
so it just goes to show ya the "markers" are totaly unreliable.

Re: Het Pied Marker Question?
well looking at the two I would have said the bottom due to the two dots midway on the belly and the two towards the tail...
was thinking your example would show the 'marker' being way off.

No I was showing that a Normal can display better and more pronounced "Markers" than even a known Het Pied.

Re: Het Pied Marker Question?
which lines is the marker referring to then? or is it just the clear belly?

Well the markers refer to the black lines down the the sides of the belly and a clear to simi-clear belly.
