    Wierd behavior.......possibly?

Hi, i got my new ball about 3 weeks ago and hes doing great, feeding fregularly and active. Ive noticed that over the past 2 days hes taken to moving things around his cage by pushing them, making a mess of things and spilling water constantly. At first, i thot it might just be time to shed and he was merely rubbing up against rough objects. However, his eyes are not that blue milky color they usually turn during a shed and his behavior has not changed at all either. Is it normal behavior for them to rearange their furnishings like spider and scorpions or is sumthin goin on that im not seeing? ne help appreciated.

My male takes his hide and positions it over his water bowl after he empties it. Has done this numerous times. I lift the hide and he is crammed as tight as possible in his bowl. Normally the bowl is in the center. When I find it the center bedding is drenched and the bowl at the far end under the hide. The only thing I can think of is his hide isn't tight enough, but he wishes to be covered up also.Out of 13 snakes he is the only one that "moves the furniture".

I figured y he was moving his hides. I took tubberware and to make it dark covered it in black tape, but the sticky side of the tape kept peeling off nd he was gettin stuck. I found him this morning desperately trying to escape one he was stuck to badly nd i had to preform "surgery" to get him lose. So, wat's the correct way to fashion a sufficient hide out of tubberware? I think that he's too small for boxes and such, or is there no such thing?

Go to Walmart, or any store with a decent gardening area....and get some of those plastic saucers that go underneath flower pots. They look like they're the terracota sort, but they're just plastic. They make perfect hides, and cost only pennies. Just cut or melt an entrance hole in the side and flip it upside down and there ya go.

Really, any solid color plastic container will do...just make sure it's small enough to fit snugly around your snake when it curls up inside. They really like tight, small hides and it's almost impossible to have a hide that is "too small" for these guys.

And yes....they'll move 'em around and rearrange the "furniture" in their enclosure. It's not a big deal and nothing you need to worry about.

let him be. mine move their hides/logs/water dishes all the time. a few of them will move their hide back and forth to the cold and hot side ( have a rack system). my mojave will push his two hides all around and then back to where they were in one night. i stoped worrying and just watched and it looks like hes just playing around having fun with the small space he has

if you cant afford to take care of it, dont get it

You'd be surprised, also, at just how small of a hide you can use... one of mine likes hides that are literally too small for him. He was using the medium-sized flower pot sauces as described above, but could only get about half of his body under it. it seems like as long as his head was covered, he's happy. I tried moving to a larger size, and he just ignored it.

Of course, this was before I moved everyone to my new rack, where I don't use hides at all...
