    up all day ?

Ive had my BP for a month now.the temp at substrate level is 84 degrees..he seems to spend most of the day trying to escape..there is water and a hide on each side..Is this normal for a new guy..does it mean hes not so scared and wants to investigate? OR like a lil baby has he gotten his days and nights mixed up hehehe ??

    It means that he's stressed.

Can you post some pictures of your set-up?

    Re: up all day ?

My BP did the same thing she cut down alot. I posted a fourm about her doing it at another web site and they told me that she could be stressed like
rabernet said or your snakes temps are not right.

On my hot side I try to keep in in the low 90's and the cool side I keep it around the mid 80's. Humidity is about 60-65. My girl is in the process of shedding right now so she is not out very much she is going threw the 1st stage of the process.

Good Luck with you and your new BP, they are wonderful snakes and very addicting you will wanna get more. I've had my little one for about 2 months now and I want another one.

It looks like her hides are too large. She needs two identical hides that will touch her on all sides including the top.

Those hides will probably work for you when she gets a bit bigger, although a lot don't like the half log ones because it leaves them open on two sides.

    Re: up all day ?

I have two logs and as long as you keep it pushed up against the side of the tank, you shouldn't have too much of a problem. Although mine do get pushed around from time to time, I guess she likes to rearrange the setup on her own .
