    does your snake climb alot?

mines been climbing to the top of the tank and then trying to slide across the top where the screen and the tank meet. hes been doing this lately i dunno if hes bored and wants to climb but its kind of weird. the only thing that worries me is that he falls down a lot i just don't want him to hurt himself. is there anything i should do to keep him from climbing. hes landed on the wood and water bowl a few times.

My Mody LOVES to climb - when I have him out he goes to my coffee table alot and then climbs up it and hangs out for a while... I've got to get some good pictures of it! He's so cute!

it kinda depends on the time and where my girl is at. at night she cruises around in her cage like nobody else's business. she'll be all over. when she's out of the cage she be exploring like nuts. but usually during the day, she's hiding (that would be the nocturnal aspect of her).

it may be that your snake feels comfortable being out. it probably understands that nothing will happen if it comes out of hiding. kind of like getting over a fear or something. i dunno. just a thought.

yeah. i'm sure he's not hitting as hard as it looks. i wouldn't worry about it too much. it sounds like he's just exploring and such.

If he's doing it excessively, then he could be showing signs of stress. How big is your enclosure? How small are your hides?

I do not put anything in my tubs for them to climb on (except for low hides, of couse.) They are clumsy, heavy-bodied ground-dwellers. I would fear internal injury if one of them fell from even a few inches height.

Yea I don't keep anything in my tubs besides 2 hides, a water dish, and sometimes crumpled newspaper depending on the snake.
