    Up, up and away! (DUW)

My wonderful husband bought me a balloon ride for Chrsitmas, my birthday and our anniversary. We finally got around to using it this morning. Boy was it a beautiful ride and soooo exiciting. Here are a few pics . . .

My hubby helping to fill the balloon.

It's just about ready to go!

Here we are just before takeoff! I was a little nervous . . .

    Kissing another balloon while aloft.

    It's a race and they're ahead.

Loading it all back up after the ride.

The landing was a little bumpy for me but apparently the pilots thought it was fine. As is custom after every balloon ride (I just learned this today) we celebrated a good flight with champaign and brunch. What a wonderful day. I am sooo stoked.

Looks like you had fun Not fun for me as I am afraid of heights and flying...I can not imagine flying in something that is not enclosed and have seatbelts!

Oh Alice how nice of him! What a wonderful and unique gift! For me that would be hell on earth (or rather above earth) as I have the most gawd awful fear of heights but I enjoyed it through your pictures. Thanks for posting them.

There was another woman in one of the other balloons that was very scared at first because, like you, she was afraid of heights. She ended up loving the ride because 99% of the time you are looking out on the horizon and not down.

I was also a little apprehensive because of the basket. I did not want to be standing in something that swayed back and forth like a farris wheel seat (yes I do not like ferris wheels - love roller coasters though). I was very glad it was completly steady - no rock at all. It was like standing on a solid floor.

My husband is absolutely terrific! After 27 years of marriage, I still consider him the best thing that ever happened to me!
