    Incubator question

I have used silicone to attach the perspex to the underside of my incubator lid so that I have a window.

The skilicone smell is quite intense. How long should I let it dry before putting the lid on? DO you think the toxins could affect the eggs?

    Re: Incubator question

Having used silicone for various other enclosures I would leave at least at good 48 hrs to let it cure properly ( well ventilated area ) to be on the safe side . Once its cured you should'nt really be able to smell it at all . Not sure if it could actually affect eggs but I would rather err on the side of caution.

    Re: Incubator question

Well eggs are porous so I wouldn't expose them to any toxin. Let that air out at least 48 hours until you cannot detect any odors. Best to be safe than sorry, I figure.
