    Hello I'm a Newbie...

    Hi everyone,

I just joined and thought that I would say hello. I just got my first ball Python this past wekend, I am very excited about this fact as no one ever thought that I would get a snake. I have a male and I have not measured him yet but he is the length of his 10 gal tank. I will be posting pictures of him and his enclosure with in the next few days. At that time I will also be picking your brains to see how and what I can do to make his life better and happier.

    Thanks,
    Amanda

Welcome to BPNet Amanda. If you'd like to post details about housing and so forth we'd be pleased to help you tweak your snake's home as needed or make suggestions regarding feeding routines. Of course we'd love to see pics of your lovely new snake as well.

    Re: Hello I'm a Newbie...

Welcome Amanda. Just want to let you know this is extremely addicting! The most important thing for your new BP is tempreture! Low 90's on the warm side and mid to low 80's on the cool side, very important. Give him several tight hides on the warm and cool side. A secure (hiding) BP is a happy BP. They do not like wide open enclosures, makes them feel very vulnerable and usually stop eating. Best of luck!
