Wall Mural
I have a patio in my condo that's about 4' below ground level (the building was build on the side of a hill). I just got permission to paint the wall, so I am going to do a mural. I haven't decided if I will use spray paint or brushes, I'm thinking a combination of both. My problem is that I can't decide on the subject to paint. I'm thinking either a large salt water aquarium scene or the Chicago skyline. I need more ideas, so let's hear 'em. The wall is about 7' x 4'.

Re: Wall Mural
I've alway dreamt of having a large realistic rainforest mural, with a bunch of animals, some that you really have to look hard for. Just a thought, sounds like you have some work ahead of you .

Re: Wall Mural
Just being me, I would paint a fantasy mural. Something like there's this dragon with it's wings spread out and it looks like an overview of it's flight that takes up most of the wall and the only thing you detail is it's head. His neck fades into the main picture. The main picture's boundry being the outline of the dragon. The main picture would be this scenery of this castle on a hilltop with mountians in the background and shadows of dragons flying overhead. And the castle would be the main peice in the mural. It would be really detailed and freaking awesome! and you could put like a poem or quote somewhere on the outside of the dragon's outline, and it would be awesome! Anyways, that's what I would do.

Re: Wall Mural
I like those ideas. I thought about a jungle or forest scene, but the wall is so short that I don't think it would look good. I also thought about just doing something crazy like an anime scene, or more random stuff like that, but I'm planning on selling the condo next year, so I want to do something that will add to the property. Even if it doesn't raise the value, I'd like it to be attractive enough and general enough that most people who are looking at my unit aren't turned off by it, and hopefully want to buy it just so they can have a bad@$$ mural of their own. Any other ideas? I know a lot of you are creative and artistic, so let's hear 'em.

Re: Wall Mural
You could do like a tree with a green tree python hanging on a branch and maybe some turtles and frogs under the tree... that'd be pretty cool.

I've been wanting to paint a GTP for a while, but I think to make a mural around that would bring me back to the rain forest idea, and the wall's just too short. It's more like 4 x 9, and there's a parking lot right beyond the wall. So far I'm leaning toward the giant aquarium idea, but that would probably take all summer to finish with all the coral, plants, fauna, etc. I'm a perfectionist and a pretty good painter, so I'm not planning on half @$$ing this. I just need some help getting started.

I liked your anime idea. That'd be cool, but hey, you want an aquarium. Mabey you could put a scuba diver or a mir-person in it, and all sorts of different colored fish. Mabey only one or two types of fish, but there are lots of coloration variations.

Yeah, if I go with the aquarium idea it will look something like this, only more plants and a ton of different tropical fish. I'd rather find something a little simpler that won't take me all summer, though

Re: Wall Mural
If you're going to take that idea, it'd be cool if behind all the plants and fish, you painted what was actually behind that wall.
