Finding a Vet and When To Go A Vet and Finding One

Do BP's need regular Vet trips or do they only need to go if you think there is a problem?

Also, it appears that there are no reptile vets in the area. Does anyone know someone anywhere near Columbus GA that would be good? It looks like the nearest ones are in Auburn, AL and Atlanta, GA.

God forbid there be an emergency.

Re: Finding a Vet and When To Go A Vet and Finding One

I think it depends on the owner. A checkup is always good, especially if you just acquired a new snake, but many people will seek out a vet only when needed.

As far as finding a vet in your area, have you tried contacting local vets and asking them to refer you to someone in the area? I checked on ARAV and Herp Vet Connection, and you're right about none being listed in your area. Hopefully a local vet will point you to someone that isn't on the list.
