Visionarium

Would this be a good alternative to a traditional aquarium? It's more expensive upfront but would it be better in the long run?

Re: Visionarium
Not really if you plan on using it for a BP. Ball's like their privacy so all the open area means a shy ball. Also, all the vents (on the sides and top) mean humidity and temp control issues.
If you want the open look just go with a fish tank (and spend the money saved on another snake)
...or better yet get a Sterilite tub and have the ultimate in temp/humidty control and a much happier snake.

Re: Visionarium
i have noticed by saving money on the enclouser (tub, aquarium) when you first start collecting it makes it easier if you decide to switch to a rack. if you kept an expensive set up for every snake you had, then got a rack, all that expense is pretty much useless now. this is just my opinion, i started with a aquarium for my first snake, second snake got a tub, and so on will get tubs, once i get a rack, i can easily find uses for tubs, but not really for aquariums.
another thing i thought of... if you spend less on the enclosure, hides, waterdish ect, the more you have to spend on a very much needed thermostat. i found my self in this boat. i spent all this money on stuff then when thermostat time came i was strapped.
