set up for a first time corn snake owner
i am making a set up for my corn before i get him so i can make sure things are golden before i introduce him. i have a 20 gal zoomed UTH, a thermostat, an indoor/outdoor therm/hygrometer, some aspen, a pair or hides, some fake plastic plants, and a small water bowl. now i just have a couple of questions...
am i missing anything for the set up?
at first i was gonna put him in a tub, is this what most people have? because humidity isn't a factor like with BPs it seems glass tanks would be ideal. i don't know what way i should so. personally i like to be able to watch the lil guy so i am leaning towars glass, but i wanna hear what you guys think.
can anyone post of lean me towards some pics of set ups...
thank you very much, you guys (and girls) are awesome.

another question i forgot to add...
how do you go about heating your tank/tub. is my UTH going to be enough, or are there better ways?
thanks again

Re: set up for a first time corn snake owner
Your set up sounds fine, set the thermostat at 85* and don't forget to use lid clamps. I keep all my corns in glass cages, you can use a tub but there is really no reason to unless you are using a rack.
What size is your tank? what about the snake? Make sure the UTH only covers half of the tank. Use at least 2" of aspen so it can burrow.

Everything sounds pretty good, I just moved my guy to a 20L tank and he seems to really enjoy it. Temps: cool side 70-75ish, warm side, around 84. My corn is very active and climbs through his hanging vines all the time. Here are some picks of the setup (his current setup are the last pics):

Good luck with yours!

Re: set up for a first time corn snake owner
I was always partial to tubs because everyone is kept upstairs in my room. Lugging glass tanks downstairs every week to wash them out is difficult. To me the tubs are light weight, easy to clean, and hold humidity better than glass.
THE CLAMPS ARE A MUST! Buy some black binder clamps for a few bucks and they'll save the stress of escaped corns!
