Tinnitus (ear ringing..)

I didn't want to hijack the migraine thread, so I started anew. I went to Mark's show (a Slayer cover band, so it had to be loud) last night. Smartie me decided to sit/stand right by the bass amp, and my ears are still ringing like crazy.
I always get the occasional ear-ringing, and had many ear infections as a child, teen and adult.. but this is Maddening!! How long will it take to go away? I had it before after going to concerts but it never lingered this long.. I swear, I was even drinking, and I didn't even get a hangover.. but my ears are just humming away..
Mark was in the band itself, singing and yelling and bass playing, and his is gone now! And he was near an amp that was louder than the one I was near, b/c that was the lead guitarist's.

I stood near the amp during a Black Label Society show once and my ears rang for about two days.....

Yep! All the time, every day, 24/7/365. Some days worse than others. My room is good to me as I have a fish tank going as well as a loud fan, rats crunching on pasta/doing nightly errands, etc. Whatever I can do to cover up the noise in my head at night

Anna, I could def. see that happening at a BLS show We'll see if this goes away or not.. seriously though, any concert I ever go to from now on, I am wearing earplugs. This is ridiculous.

many people are unaware that hitting kids in the head (slapping them near the ears) can cause tinnitus as can listening to loud music. problem is... permanent tinnitus usually takes 20 YEARS to show up!!!

so please people... think about that when you are listening to loud music or cuffing kids in the head... my friend has it from being cuffed. she has to have relaxing music playing all night in order to sleep!

Holy....people do that to their kids??? Honestly, I may be a horrible person for feeling this way, but I wish a HUGE guy were standing by to hit people who hit their kids in exactly the same manner. I probably shouldn't even type that in, it will anger so many people, but it's how I feel, and it makes me so sad that people do horrid things to the children they are supposed to love and cherish.

i agree sarah. as an adult who lived through abuse... i wish there was a big guy protecting me when i was small

yeah I have tinnitus ...god I hate it People have actually commited suicide because of it...and I can say I dont blame them!!

Gosh its by far the worst thing to happen to me...I hate having to strain to hear if my toddler is making noise at night or if its just the pulsing...grrrrr

And yes I agree about the children...I look at my lil one...half of me and amazing in every way and could never imagine doing what was done to me in my life to her...and get sick when I hear horrible stories about children in this world being abused...I donht watch the news because of this...I know I cant keep her from knowing these things happen in this world but lord it makes me ill....
