Eye Cap
I just started really noticing today that there is still a piece of skin left over from the last shed on one of my snake's eye. I took a damp piece of cloth and rubbed it gently but that hasn't done anything. My question is, should I wait until his next shed to see if it comes off then. Or should I go ahead and try to remove it with the tape method? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Eye Cap
I don't want to sound harsh, but I want to make it clear: NEVER USE THE TAPE METHOD! It can rip out your snake's eye, which would be absolutely awful. Just give him a warm soak(about half way up the side of his body. The water should feel barely warm to your wrist.) and let him crawl through a towel afterward. That *should* do it, but if not, I would just leave it.
Good luck!

Thanks, yeah the tape method didn't seem like a very good idea, I will give him that soak tonight.

Re: Eye Cap
happened to my pastel last week, I did the soak method a few times, once a day for an hr, for three days, after that I use a warm wash cloth and softly rubed it over his eye it took about 15 minutes first go one direction over and over but gently, then try the other direction, then from tob to bottom then bottom to top, very softly, I had his eye cap on for about a week total, I dont think theres a rush to get it off, but It must be uncomfortable for them.
BTW my pastel is an :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r: and it took some time for him to let me get near his head with that washcloth, just be patient, and if he balls up sorta cup him in your hands and wiggle your finger upward from the bottom so he will expose his head, then softly start with the rag. Afterward he was happy and seemed less skiddish in general.
