Re: hey feeding help
No need to be alarmed...yet. Ball pythons can go a while without food. Can you tell us a little about your set up? A snake that's not eating can be a sign of stress. if your set up is not right, then that will only add to stress. What's your humidity and temps like? How are they measured?

When did you try?
You just had him for about a week and BP do need time to adjust to their new environment.
Wait another week before offering again and in the mean time limit handling to enclosure maintenance at least until the first succesful meal and make sure that
your temps are 80-84 on the cool side and 90-94 on the warm side.
your umidity is 50%-60%.
your enclosure is not too big and is place in a low traffic area.
your hides are tight enough, all sides touching your BP's body.

Re: hey feeding help
no worry like stated, ball pythons go a while without food. ive tried feeding one i bought a month ago and she never took. the guy i bought her from didnt know if she eats f/t or live. i tried both and rats and mice. well today was a great day. i fed "angel" which is my good eating big baby about 4 1/2feet long. then i dropped a live mice in a tub with her and she just stared at it. well i got fed up and was about to take it out with the prongs and the mouse jumped and next thing i know she grabbed it. well its taking her about 15 minutes on figuring out which end to eat and how to do it. seems since shes about 6 months old she's not the well on feeding... but she's learning and she ate which has made me VERY happy. gl with the feeding and no worrys your bp will eat soon enough

Re: hey feeding help
I got my hets last week. The breeder that i got them from gave me two rat pups to feed them. I waited three days and pre-killed them. I just ha to get rid of these rats bcuz of the room and I felt sorry for them knowing I was gonna feed them, Well anywayz my Boy eddie ate his so I was pretty happy with that but my girl seems to be more interested in escaping. Ill try again sunday feeding her a prey item a lil smaller than a rat pup, like a hopper..
Thats another thing depends on your length of there acclimation. I put a towel around my tank and use a nightlight for all day use eept night. This to my opinion will put the snake at ease. And Once awhile the snake wont eat a prey item they know they cant consume. Also if there used to eating live mice theyll sometimes wont touch a dead rat just sitting there. Try getting forcepts in a about a week of acclimation and dangle the rat/mouse in front of the bp. See what happens. If nothing then there just on that off- feeding time.
