My fishies laid eggs
i got up one morning a few days ago, and saw that one of the oranda's had laid some eggs.i serperated what i could and put them in a seperate tank,to see what would happen with them.i dont know if the eggs were fertilised by the male , so im just hoping something will hatch.there seems to be something happening with some of the eggs,so i should know within a week or 2 if il get anything from them.

Congrats...most people that buy orandas and other fancy goldfish at the store I work cannot keep them alive long enough to get spawns out of them. If the eggs turn opaque whitish then more than likely they are not fertile.

Re: My fishies laid eggs
yeah, i got 2 black moors, a calico oranda and a red oranda.2 males and 2 females, the calico is a male, they bred once a month after i got them but i never took the eggs out.the red oranda is the female and the calico and one of the black moors seem to do the mating thing with her alot.
i checked on the eggs, and they are more whitish but, i can see black dots in them that were not there before.(i read before that if you can see 2 small black dots in the eggs that these are the eyes)
