    Tub Qs

I want to build some racks to house my reptiles in. I've already been given some instruction on how to build one, but we'll see how that goes in a month or two. Currently between my fiance and I, we have three reptiles. I have one snow corn and one leo and my fiace has a king.

    So onto the questions.

    1. Can a king and corn be housed in the same rack on the same thermostat?

    2. Can a ball python be housed in the same rack as a corn or king?

    3. Do you have to have a thermometer to measure cool side and warm side in a tub?

    4. What size tub does an adult corn require?

    5. What size tub does an adult king require?

    6. What size tub does an adult ball require?

    7. Do you have to mist a tub to keep up humidity?

    8. When we move in together, should my fiance and I keep our reptiles away from each other? We will have two levels to the townhouse, so that won't be a problem if it is required. How long should we do this? 30-60 days?

    9. When we get a third snake, would it make sense to start breeding rodents since fiance's snake eats pinkies and mine is now eating hoppers?

Thats about it for now. I'll post up more if I think of them. I'm just trying to get everything together before we move so that when time comes to move, we are not guessing at everything. I want things to be right.

    1. I believe Kings and Corns have similar heating requirements, I'd have to double check to be sure.

    2. No I don't think so, a ball needs higher temps than an king and a corn, so I you want to hook up a separate flexwatt tape and thermostat then you could make it work, I think.

    3. I have a thermometer on the warm side of my cages, i don't have one for the cool side, yet. I personally would have two just so I know the temps are at optimal range.

    4. I've heard a 36qt or a 41qt can house an adult corn.

    5. Don't know...sorry.

    7. It depends on how many holes you put in for ventilation. More holes = less humidity, thus the need for misting. I mist my corns when they are in a shed, regardless of how many holes I have in my tubs. Though I make sure they're not sopping wet.

    8. You should follow a proper quarantine when introducing new reptiles into a collection. So I'd say yes. And I believe 60 days in the min. though don't quote me on that.

    9. It'll be up to you if you want to breed. Keep in mind though that your corn and king may never eat rats, I've heard most adults eating adult mice. Though I am sure if you want to keep all animals eating the same rodent you could just give them a smaller rat. So it's really up to you if you want to breed.

    I think that's it. LOL.
