    Pregnant!

So two nights ago my wife and I found out she was pregnant! She had been feeling nausious for the past two or three days and she took a test and there it was!

We're super excited, but super scared! With me having been out of work going on two days and being behind on bills, this little surprise is slightly stressful. It's going to be our first and as the over protective father (already) and husband, I'm reading everything I can.

We're very excited and since I seem to talk to some of the people here more than some of my real life friends half the time, I figured everyone should know

    Re: Pregnant!

Congratulations to you and your wife. I can remember how scared I was to take home our first child.

The best advice I can give you is to spend as much time as possible with your wife. Go to dinner, bask in a full night's rest and just generally enjoy each other because in 9 months you will become completely overwhelmed with the life of your child.

    Re: Pregnant!

christie is right. enjoy the spontanaety of your life now... cause it won't return for many many years!!!!

you will cease to be a person. you will forever be "so and so's dad"
you will cease to have anything to yourself. you child/ren will constantly be eating off your plate, drinking (and backwashing) your beverages and peeing your bed!

    Re: Pregnant!

Oh how wonderful! Every baby is precious but there's always something about the first baby that you and your wife will never forget. Best advice from me...find a certified midwife and plan a midwife attended hospital birth. I had three with doctors and the fourth with a midwife in attendance and if I could do it over again, I'd choose the midwife every time....much nicer birth experience.

Your wife is likely to be tired for the next little while so give her lots of attention and understanding. It's a huge change we women go through as our bodies accept the demands of a pregnancy.

Congrats to both of you on the blessed event!
    ~~Joanna~~
