Weird ball python

I was feeding the pythons at work the other day. I put a mouse in with a male who was real dull looking but never turns down a meal. The python wrapped the mouse quite fast then continued to eat it. When it was done I noticed some loose skin around his nose. Then he began to shed in the feeding cage right after devouring the mouse. I waited for him to be done then tossed in another as he usualy eats two mice in a sitting. He refused the second as he was probably too distracted with the shed. I just cant understand why he would of taken the first one at all, seems strange.

Some snakes just eat fine when in shed.. it's just a personal preference I guess.. lol

Some eat during shed, some don't. One of our females when she was younger, came firing out of her hide to grab her dinner. That's when I noticed her shed was about half done, nicely rolled about midway down her body. She snarfed down her mouse, returned back into her hide and finished up shedding. Nothing was making her miss her meal apparently LOL.

A while ago, I put Dax in his feeding tub, gave him his rat, and left him to eat as I normally do. I went back in an hour to find Dax in his tub, rat gone, sitting next to a roll of wadded up skin. He had eaten his rat, pooped, and shed. I guess he didn't the wadded up old poop filled skin in his house. Strange snake.
