    I just finished burying her...

in the back yard She died in my arms fighting for every last breath. By the time I stood up to take her and have her put down it was to late. I hate that she suffered, but atleast she died in my arms knowing I love her I hope!
God, who know a little rat could break your heart and make you cry so bad.
Rest In Peace my precioius Speedy.

Speedy as a baby lovin the wheel

The day I brought her home

My favorite picture of her and Snow....this was just taken about 4 days ago
    God I miss her!

    Ohhhhhhhh, Im soooo sorry....

I TOTALLY understand!!! Any idea what happened?? I just saw the "hugging" pic and now I read that Speedy died. ?!????

It's really hard. Rats are loving pets, and their squishiness just wiggles into our hearts!!! Keep the memories. *tears here* <Makes me miss Smudge again>.

    Heartfelt condolences!

please don't beat yourself up over this lisa. honestly, the symptoms came on so fast and you had a huge obligation at your home to attend to... may the angels wrap her in their arms and may they both comfort you

Re: I just finished burying her...

Awww hon, I'm sorry I wasn't in the forum much and missed all of this. I'm so sorry Speedy passed away and I know you must feel awful about it. Sad but true that often Mother Nature's creatures just don't show us they are extremely ill until it's too late. I think it's nature's way for some animals to hide their illness so they are not perceived as easily preyed on by others. I've had totally healthy looking rats go down hill very suddenly or stroke out on me and it's always terribly upsetting but so much worse when it's one you are closely bonded with. Don't beat yourself up over this, you did what you could and when all is said and done, Speedy did have a wonderful rattie life so try to focus on that and not the sad end of it.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I know she lived a good life with you. The pics of the two rats "hugging" is priceless too.

I am so sorry about this, Lisa. At least she isn't suffering anymore; you gave her the best life possible.
