Mercury Vapor Bulb

Would a 100 watt Mercury vapor bulb be to much for a 18w x 24d x 12h cage? This is for an Giant African Plated Lizard.

It would work, but the light would need to be at least 12" above the actual lizard, so his basking spot would be where you need to measure it out from... good luck with it and let us know how it turns out...
