Parseltongue?
Alright, So I now have the RTB that itzazoo had rescued and everything seems to be going well. He is a little reclusive, most likely because he is adjusting to his new home, as well as being blue. However, I notice him making some strange sounds every now and then when I'm in the vacinity of his tub for an extended period of time, along with the perpetual staring at me. It's not a hissing sound, I've heard that a fair amount in the past, but it sounds more like him taking a very long, very deep breathe? Like the whispering in Harry Potter when he talks to snakes.
I look at him, and as best as I can tell he's breathing normally, and his set-up is straight off this places caresheet, and am planning on taking him to the vet after he sheds. It just sorta creeps me out because it seems like he's trying to talk to me.

maybe he thinks your being rude by not talking back
I would guess it could be a RI. Just get him to the vet like you said you were going to for a check up, and if it turns out he's fine, just be happy you got a talking snake!

Re: Parseltongue?
Check his nostrils for some loose stuck shed that may be covering them. The sound could be from him breathing against some loose skin. If there is mucus around them then it could be an URI. If the strange breathing dosn't stop after he sheds I would definitely take him to a vet.

When Wrigley gets peeved he hisses w/o taking a breath (or so it sounds). It doesn't happen often, but there was one night when my just walking by and then standing near the OTHER snake's tubs set him off. He didn't stop until I was out of the room (by the door).
