Extermination
What do you long-time keepers do about exterminating pests?
Usually at this time of year, we remove the animals and set off bug bombs. Probably not a good idea with so many snakes, though.
I'm already starting to see the spring influx of creepy crawlies!

Re: Extermination
I use a professional to get rid of pests...and always make sure the critters are not anywhere near where he's spraying for at least a day or so. Definitely a pain in the behind...but worth it in the end...and it doesn't have to be done often.

Re: Extermination
Yup, we use a professional service too, and it's worked well for us for the last two years.

Ok, I think I see the writing on the wall...Time to go pro. I've never had a pro kill my creepies before, we have always bombed.

Re: Extermination
We had fleas a few years back; we just took the snakes to my friend's house (there were a LOT less snakes at that time!) for the day that we bug-bombed, along with some frogs I had at the time. I ahd rats too and just left them out in the garage in their cages (it was summertime.) And the cat spent a few hours in his kitty carrier (he was Not happy, lol.)
I don't think bug-bombs will harm snakes; I would clear them out of the house for the day though; if you could find a trusted friend or family member to keep an eye on them.
Our landlord actually bug-bombed the basement a few years ago.. without letting us know.. the fumes had to have crept upstairs. But no casualties; though Mark had some words with him!
