Re: Before and now pictures
She looks great!!! Just make sure you know when enough food is enough. Her body condition looks perfect!! What size rat is she on and how often anyways? It seems to be a nice weekend for the boa lovers/keepers to post pics!!! Lawrence, you, and I have all posted pics this weekend.
Do you have an approximate weight on her?

Very cool! It's funny; you don't realize how much your snake has grown until you look at old pictures.

She is eating weaned rats or small small rats. She's been getting fed once a week and I do skip feeding her once a month, so she gets a week off. We do this at the shop with young boa's so I follow with the rule too here at home with her. She weighs 440 grams.

Thats what I like to see! Im tired of some people oqwning Columbian red tial boas and feeding them the incorrect food and keeping them on small mice untill a year old wondering why its so small and all. See they arent suppose to be so small. Yours going so well and mine growing so well is the proof of that. Your doing a good job!

I agree Kitty. Also it bothers me when I see people feeding adult BCI's huge rabbits. They don't need a huge meal like that... it's NOT a burm.

Very pretty, Allison. I love her colors! It looks like you're doing a great job... it's amazing how fast they grow when given a little TLC.

Agreed about their growing but I see no reason to push them. As long as they keep a healthy body weight, you are feeding them plenty. Keep it up and before you know it she'll be in the 4-5' range in another 12 months!

How do you know when you're feeding them too much? I was worried at first because mine was growing a lot faster than most of the ones I've seen, but I made sure I kept an eye on any possible overweight characteristics such as showing skin between their scales and fat rolls. Are there any other indicators?

From what I've noticed, their head will be a lot smaller in preportion to the rest of their bodies as well as being able to see inbetween the scales because they are streched further than necessary
