Feeding Question

I feed my boa 1 hopper mouse 3 days ago and it didn't even live a bump in her billy so should i feed another hopper. Also is a adult mouse the next size up from a hopper. Because id like to switch to a bigger mouse the next time i feed him. I want to feed him a rat fuzzy but i cant convince my dad to let me buy a rat fuzzy, i told them that they are better but he just tells me to steak with mice.

When I feed my boas I try to make sure you can tell they just ate if the snakes are not full grown yet. The next step up from a hopper would be a small adult or an adult.

Just remember, when you are looking at mice sitting down or walking around they look a lot more bunched up and fat than they will be when they are going down your snake.

Why won't your dad let you buy a feeder rat? Does he realize that one day mice will not be enough for your Boa? Tell him that it could be good to go ahead and start the snake on rats now so that you won't have to switch his food items later on.

As long as the prey size is as wide around as the snake at the snakes widest part then the meal is perfect. And after three days the bump will be gone anyway so maybe you missed it? I usually don't see much of a bump after 24 hours when I go in to change their water. And eventually a mouse be only as big as about half of the boas head so feeding rats will be a must.

my dad does realize that they willl eat rats later on its that he rased his boas for 20 years and he feed them mice until they really needed it. anyways should i feed another hopper.

well i just fed my snake and i know that they have to realine there jaws but its been awile and his lower jaw is still not alined right. I think there might be a pice of the substrate in there, its BED A BEAST so its not toxic if he eats it right. Well thats what i have heard. So can you guys tell me if i should be worried.

depending on age and size yes redtail has been eating fuzzy rats and weanlings for a good time now thats easy two or three adult mice think you snake would be fine with another fuzzy or even adult mouse depending on age and size of snake.

Hello! I have a red tail and sometimes when he would strike at his prey he would get a few shavings in his mouth. Most of the time he would not even go after the prey after that. It takes a day or so but he would get the shavings out on his own and then we would re-introduce his prey again.

I have not used bed a beast before but on their website it says It is not harmful if ingested. So your little guy should be fine! Hope this helped
