skin question

hi there i just purchased a baby ball and he's eating and doing fine. i had him a few days and i'm noticing his skin on the very top of his back seems to be breaking in parts. like he's losing his good color and underneath is a dull blue. this is not all over just his back,i had a burmese and when it was going into a shed i didn't look like this. it's hard for me to explain what it looks like it's like patches on his back with dull skin under it i guess. just was wondering if this might be a problem with his skin or just going into a shed

It's hard to visualize what you mean without a photo. The "blue" your describing isn't very comforting as the description could be scale rot, although normally it occurs on the belly.

nah it does'nt look anything like that pic, his belly is slightly pinkish this is just right on top of his back he has a slight blue to his head now. also looks as if his top scales are coming off and theres just dull blueish underneath.i'll try to take a pic. it's hard to explain he is in a 20 long aspen substrate water 2 hides his temps are 81 cool side 92 warm side humidity 70% to 60 uth on warm side 75watt red bulb for heat he ate yesterday and seems fine no mites on skin that i can see just strange he is either going in to a shed or somthing is wrong very wrong

I'm not gonna lie to you those pictures are horrible, all I can see on the back is what looks to be a little blushing but no missing scales. Maybe im looking at it wrong but I dont see anything.

yeah i know i got to close i'm gonna take some better ones later he's prolly going into a shed. but it just looks strange to be in parts just on the top

sounds to me like hes entering a shed cycle, but i dont know why his scales would be coming off if he was just in opaque.
