ANother food size question....

Sorry to keep asking these questions, but I'm so paranoid about this kind of stuff.
Ok, last time I ask about food size for Karma (at 90 grams) everyone said rat pups. It took awhile to find a good provider but I finally was able to get ahold of some and by not Karma is 120 grams.
The pups are about 30 grams I think, but I wanted to double check with y'all to make sure this is ok because they look so big.
I couldn't put the two together so show size comparison, but here they are compaired to a $10 bill....





Mostly I need to know if this is too big for him to get down, will he know better than to try to eat it. I just don't want to end up choking him....

You won't choke him that easily. A pup looks like it may be a little too big. I would keep him something smaller for now just so he does not go off feed to catch up.

Hmmm....I can't really get ahold of anything smaller unless I switch between mice and rats because I can only get rat pups (or smaller) from the local monthly expo. My old supplier down here only sells up to rat pinks and there are just no rat fuzzies around here at all.
So far he has been a really good feeder, but because I had resorted to feeding two rat pinkies weekly he hasn't gain weight in three weeks (nor has he defecated in over a month).
Do you think it would be ok to feed him one of these tomorrow (it is his feeding day)?

A month without poop is okay. As far as the weight gain goes, has he literally not gained a single gram or is it just minimal? If he will eat mice, stick with that. There are pics all over this forum that compare rat feeders to mice feeders and the difference is almost non existant.

I would like to stick with rats because he seems to get very confused when it comes to taking a second prey item (which he'd have to do when he gets older if I stayed with mice), last time he wouldn't take a second at all (granted, he was in shed). I've been feeding multiple for the past few weeks with the rat pinks and he will take the first on with gusto, but he seems confused when I give him a second one. He tend to try to eat it backwards, and was dragging it around the cage once and overall it seems less stressful for him to eat just one prey item rather than having to feed muliple mice in the future. If I must, I would want to switch back and forth (which so far he hasn't had a problem with), but I have to use these eventually becase I have four of them now and no one else to feed them to.
With the weight gain, I haven't gotten a great scale yet and it only reads by 10 gram increments so that he hasn't gained or lost more than 10 grams is all I can say for certain.
When I switched to rats I asked what size I should feed and was told rat pups and spent weeks trying to find themand now I'm confused again.
Everything else is going so smoothly except the food size issues. If it weren't so cold out I'd see if I could bring him to a local breed so he could see him in person and get a better idea, but that is def. not happening in this weather.

I also suggest using mice until he is able to handle the pups.
I've been switching back and forth between mice and rats.. f/t and live and have not have a problem with them eating either one.

Unfortunatly, I have to bend over backward to find anything under adult size and I couldn't find rat fuzzies anywhere. These are supposed to be pups. They were frozen in weird flat postions that made them look fatter. Here is a partially thawed one, this way the only thing that really looks like it may be too big is the head. What do you guys think? If y'all still think I should find somthing smaller I'll go get a mouse (adult?) tomorrow and some rat pinks and switch between the two, just let me know what you think....
