boaphile vs Reptile Basics
Does anyone here have any experience with Boaphile Plastics or Reptile Basics( http://www.boaphileplastics.com http://www.reptilebasics.com )
I am interested in getting a 2x4 black cage and I really cannot decide which one I would like to go with. I will eventually be stacking several on top of each other so I would like a sturdy cage.
If anyone can tell me plusses and minuses to either cage it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: boaphile vs Reptile Basics
I have two racks from Boaphile, and love that they are light weight enough for me to carrying them up the stairs by myself. They're sturdy too. The biggest downside feor ordering from him is the waiting period. You will wait 6-8 weeks, and you'll only get a response if you pester him via phone. I knew that going in, and was not in a rush to get the caging so it worked just fine for me.
I can't comment from experience on reptilebasics, but I know several people here speak very highly of them as well. You can always search for more input in it is not forthcoming.

Re: boaphile vs Reptile Basics
Reptile Basics makes a really high quality racks and cages. I have had the pleasure of meeting Rich in person multiple times and checking them out. He is an A+ businessman! Boaphile makes a quality product but between the long wait times and the bad customer service from them, they wouldn't be my first, second or third choice. Check out herpenclosures.com as well as apcages.com too. Good luck!

boaphile all the way. they are the cheapest and the best. customer service is bad if you e-mail him but he answers his phone every time you call if it is in his hours. the reason they take so long to get is there is a waiting list of people ahead of you who understand that to get the best you have to wait. just order them and forget about them they will take about 8 weeks.

They are certainly not the cheapest and I guess the best is an opinion. I consider poor customer service to be far from the best that can be done for your customer.

Another company that makes the plastic cages at great prices is Barrs www.Barrs.com . The only problem is they dont come in black , ive ordered from them before and everything went smooth.
I plan on getting one of their shoebox racks in the future, not anytime soon though.

Re: boaphile vs Reptile Basics
I'd say go with the boaphile, I've never had any problems with mine, he's been around A LOT longer than the others above, his email is slow but he does answer, and he does answer the phone every time you call. I've seen the reptile basics, and the ap's in person and those who have them wish they didn't get them compared to the professional and better made Boaphiles. Trust me, compared together the boaphiles are much better made and the doors open much more smoothly.
