how long for flexwatt tape to heat up?

Just got a quick question. How long should it take for flexwatt tape to heat up to desired temp? I am using 17" wide 10 watt tape....2 feet to be exact. i am using a ranco thermstat alonf with it. This is my first attempt with flexwatt and just dont know a whole lot about it. Thanks a bunch.

Re: how long for flexwatt tape to heat up?

The flexwatt heats up instantly...like 5-10 mintues. However, it may take a few hours for your cage temp to warm up and possible a day or more for the whole enclosure to stabilize.

Its going to swing up and down for the first few days, but will level out eventually. Try to keep your room temp as stable as possible and don't open the enclosure at all to speed up the process.

Are you sure the 17" is the 10 watt?
