What is this wood? Driftwood. Is it OK?

I bought this from the pet store last year...Can I used it in the tank with my BP? I "cooked" it already, I just know that certain types of wood can't be used (pine, cedar) so does anyone know what kind of wood this looks like?
I bought it as "driftwood"...Can someone let me know if it's safe?

    Dustin

Most woods sold ar pet stores are from grape vines at least in this area (CA). It should be fine but its more for you to look at. I don't think the BP cares at all unless she can hide under it.

Looks like blasted grapevine, to me--which is often sold as "driftwood" around here as well (the "blasted" part has to do with how it is sanded down to give it that water-polished look). It looks pretty, and it's nontoxic to basically everyone, people included. We use it in mouse cages, and the mice will chew on it.

We're planning to get one for Carey's bp too.
