    tank temp

i just recently got a bp about a week and a half ago. it is a 40 gallon breeder tank with several large wooden branches and stumps for him to hide. I have a 100w halogen day light as well as a 100w cermaic heat emitter on during the day. at night i turn off the halogen. I also have a undertank heater but its from a 20 gallon i had. The temp on the warm side is about 84-85 and the cool side is about 75-77. Do i need to get a bigger heat pad and/or another/bigger light to get the day time temp a little higher. also is the night temp ok. thanks

also, how do i post a picture of my tank and python.

Hey there. Yeah you need to go warmer, like ~93 warm, ~83 cool.

How are you measuring humidity and temps?

couple ways. I have to analog thermometers. One on each side of the tank. As well as the strip thermometers, on on the bottom right of the warm side and one on the top left on the the cool side. at the moment i dont have a hygrometer.

    nice set up!

Those analog thermometers are almost always wrong. If you've got a good wal-mart around, pick up one of those indoor/outdoor digital thermometers. They have a probe which I put on the warm side and will tell you what belly heat is. It also tells you what your cool side ("indoor") temps are as well as the humidity.
