New idea.....Need oppinion
Picked up this tub at Menards for 11$ today and figured I would use it for starting a rack for the rats. Then it came to my head, it may work for larger balls that seem to be crampt in the 41 qt. tubs as well as medium sized boas.
Its 3' by 2' by 8", and has about as mucgh floor space as the CB-110 from reptiletubs.com but is available locally and for a bit cheaper. Its a bit more flimsy than the tubs most of us use but I think it should work great for the rats and herps for sure!!
Let me know your oppinion on it

Re: New idea.....Need oppinion
Far from a new idea there babe I started a rack, using concrete mixing tubs for juvenile African Rocks, and Burmese. Most people are against using black plastics, because it doesn't allow light in the rack, when in all reality I've seen them acting more naturally and a little healthier. Even my problem feeders eat more readily and seem calmer when handled. Go to Lowes, or Home Depot and pick up some Concrete mixing tubs. Its just as thick, if not a little thicker than regular tubs, and they run about $5 a piece. They're rounded off, so they're more suitable for rat racks than the tubs your planning on using as well, as the rats have no where to really bite onto to chew through. Good luck in whatever you choose!

You won't be able to keep rats in a tub like that. It has to be smooth inside, they will eat out of that tub in no time.
Not being smooth you are going to work really hard cleaning it if you keep snakes in it also...Jon

Ok then. Thats why I asked. I'll try and take it back and pick up the other kind of tubs.
