Branches
I am going to make a display tank for my RTB, and wanted to know if you could use a branch from a tree outside. If there was any tree that can be harmful for them, and if there are bugs on it (which im sure there will be), how do i get rid of them?
Thanks all!

Re: Branches
The oils from cedar and pine are toxic to them, but you should be able to use any other tree. Hardwood is probably best such as oak or a nice manzanita branch. The branch should be dead and smooth without a rough bark surface that can get soiled and might be hard to clean.
To sterilize it you can place it in an oven set at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. That will kill any germs or bugs that might be on or living inside the branch.

In an aquarium try a dab of silicone but you may want to put dude in a temp cage for around 12 hours so he doesnt get sick or hurt from the fumes.
