Time for a big girl cage...=) DUW
Ever since we upgraded Cleo to her palace, Carmen has been jealous. We told her that if she kept eatting her ratters, she could have a big girl cage too!
The Saturday before Christmas, we went to our local reptile store to get feeders and to look into ordering a big girl cage for Carmen. The southern California based cage manufacturer who made Cleo's cage, Critter Condos, resells through reptile stores and our local store sells them.
When we got to the store, it turns out that they were having a sale on Critter Condos in stock AND they had the exact cage we wanted AND in the color to match Cleo's AND we had driven the truck. On SALE! WOO!
We brought it home and then jumped online and ordered supplies (hides, cage liners, UTH's, CHE, etc.) from Reptile Supply and another Herpstat Pro.
It finally all arrived and we got it put together for the Miss Boa! 'Nuf talk, here's what you came for...

Carmen checked it out all and has started themoregulating again - yay! She had really been keeping to the warm side in her old cage, which was honestly getting much too small for her. Note the double Herpstats! Top one is Carmen's, bottom one Cleo's.

Tower of snake power! Carmen on top, Cleo in the middle and Jenson still in his 10 short on the bottom shelf. The wires you see to the left and now all organized and not a mess, hehe. =)

She likely. =)

Tongue shot!!

Buuuut before it was all together, New Year's Eve happened...and when you have a few beers, you get creative with cages.

It was RICK's idea...I just happened to think it was hysterical, TEEHEE!

"Mommy! Leeet meee oooout!" Kitty torture is fun.
0.1 ball python (Cleo), 0.1 surinam bcc (Carmen)
1.0 sunglow motley corn (Jenson), 1.0 albino burmese (Lourdes)
1.0 cat (Nicky), some mooses and ratters, 1.0 hubby (Rick)

I admire your beautiful cages. They're both quite lovely.. not to mention the snakes within!
-and if I leave a snake cage open (unoccupied of course) the cat will actually go in by herself.. dumb kitty!

Nice job! Very cool cat too. They look custom. How do you like those sliding doors? I'm not a big fan of them, but I'd have over twenty of them if I went that route. lol. I'm thinking about going with the massive sized Freedom Breeder Racks for Boas.

We've really liked them with Cleo although we bought a glass door lock pretty quickly. Snakes are either smart (they know how doors open) or persistent in trying to get out cuz if there wasn't a door lock, she would have figured out how to push it open.
I'm hoping that side cage access as opposed to top cage access will make it easier to get Carmen in and out, but you'll have to check back with us after a while as we only put her in once and we haven't messed with her since (wanted to give her a week to acclimate) - and now she's in blue (guess she's acclimated!).
But we had a terrible time getting her to go into the top opening cage because she'd shoot out and up on the other side; with a side opening, maybe she'll shoot up and we can close the door before she realizes up is not out! =)
*edit*
I'd also like to point out that this yearling boa still loves her hides...we'll keep offering her hides until she stops usin' 'em. =)
