    Bass and Balls

I am a DJ, my ball python is in the same room as my gear. Does loud music or bass affect them adversely? if so, i can move stuff around

    Re: Bass and Balls

That's a good question and honestly i'm not sure. most would say it's a bad idea...but I was at a night club when this chick brought out her 8 foot long red tail boa. I asked her some questions and as it turns out, the snake is a beast during feeding time....the night club music didn't stress out the snake, nor did the hundreds of people that surrounded it throughout the night...every night. Granted, red tails and balls are different species. different species may handle the bass vibrations different.

My gut instinct says it's probably not the best idea, but then again, some snakes are tolerant of those types of things.

I DJ too! I wouldn't be too worried about the noise since they don't have ears, it would be the vibrations that might be a factor to stress maybe? I'm not sure though... That's a good question though.

    Re: Bass and Balls

when i first got my hog island boa i was researching his care and i found a caresheet which discussed how they can become stressed if they are placed near a constant vibration. at the time i had his enclosure next to our salt water tank and the pump is a constant vibration... so i moved him.
