Re: le rats
They are such great pets, I used to have around 27 hairless rats that I was breeding years ago, and they were great. I had cages from Martin's cages and they were so much better than tanks because of the increased air circulation and the extra climbing exercise going to each level. Enjoy your little guys!

Re: le rats
They look very happy. You can toss in empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls for them to mess about with and also some thin strips from old telephone books. They love those strips and will drag them around, make sleeping nests out of them and have a fun time (great way to use up old phone books too ).
Here's a link with some fun toys appropriate for rodents.

You can also buy some of the toys meant for parrots as well as lengths of plain cotton thick rope from any hardware store (make sure it's 100% cotton though) to knot up and make into climbing ropes. I had the cutest rat toy years ago but can't find a place to get another. It was a hard plastic hanging toy shaped like a big rat. It had a bell inside and my pet rats went nuts over it, climbing on it, swinging, making the bell chime and boxing with it.
Aleesha puts live crickets in a toilet paper roll, folds the ends in and apparently her rats go nuts ripping into the roll to find the live treat inside. I haven't tried this one yet but I think it would be a great thing and lots of fun for your ratties. Biggest thing is don't let them get fat. Rats will get quite overweight and it always shortens their lives sigificantly. Fat rats seem to get cancers, have strokes, etc. a lot more than fit rats.

Re: le rats
they look like they are enjoying the new digs i give my rats crickets about once a month as a treat . they go balistic over them ! its funny to watch a rat with a cricket in each hand and still trying to catch more of them
