I am not an expert, though I have closely studied in college the effects of 2nd hand smoke, but I would imagine, that since 2nd hand smoke leads to more respiratory infections in exposed human children, it would be logical to assume that a snake breathing in 2nd hand smoke, would make it more susceptible to respiratory ailments. I guess it would depend on husbandry issues as well, and the immune system of that particular snake. Again, I am not an expert, just making an assumption. Don't mean to offend any forum members who smoke.

I would look at the husbandry issues first. If they were all spot on, then it possible the smoke may be having some effect. It's not something that I've run across before.

Well, as far as the invertebrate hobby goes, nicotine is a rather potent insecticide. Many people who own pet inverts choose not to smoke around around invertebrates.

I would definitely review the temperatures and other husbandry issues first though.

    Re: Bp RI infection

Sorry about the delayed post back. I was out of town for the holidays. All of the husbandry issues are good.
