Not Coming Out
Just Wondering if it there is something wrong because my ball python doesn't come out at all anymore except to switch hides. He stays mainly on the hot side, temps 93-95ish hot side 83-86ish on the cool side. Humidity isn't constant mainly 40-50 percent.

Re: Not Coming Out
Sounds like a normal, non-stressed Ball Python to me!

Re: Not Coming Out
They tend to be reclusive. The only time I see mine this time of year is at feeding time.

Re: Not Coming Out
Is it possible that he may be starting the process of shedding?

Re: Not Coming Out
Dunno he just shed like 2-3 weeks ago, but he is a growing lad. Hopefully the shed will go better since his first one...got the humidity right this time.

Re: Not Coming Out
It's likely that he's just being a normal bp, but I thought I'd ask since mine will enter their hides almost 24/7 for a week while shedding. I can always tell just by their behavor that it's that time again.

Re: Not Coming Out
Most content, happy BP's hang out in their hides a lot. Actually seeing any of ours out "pacing" the enclosure is something I'd worry about unless it's close to time to feed when they are more actively looking for a prey item. Other than that they are pretty much hide lovin lay abouts.
